Feeling Grumpy

What makes you Grumpy?

Today there are lots of things that can be a little irritating and frustrating at times.
The constant calls from telemarketers, poor service in shops, the lack of manners in some people today and the endless numbers you need to press when ringing a company then not getting to speak to anyone
What about all the new gadgets these days like GPS, the ever changing mobile phone, DVD's, blue ray and 3D movies. Is it hard to keep up with all the changes and updates?

Thought this might be a good topic to start some debate on this page.....

SPENDING THE KIDS INHERITANCE

It seems to be a favourite subject dragged out every now and then on the current affairs shows. You get to see some people of our age after a life time of working hard out enjoying themselves. The theme always seems to be that these people are spending the money they worked hard to earn instead of leaving it for their children.

What are your thoughts on this topic, does it make you grumpy?

This is just a fun page to let you have a say on any topic that frustrates you.
All we ask is that you keep it general, tasteful and respectful.

"Kids Inheritance"...

Inheritance is what's left over after you are finished with it.
If there is anything of value left in your estate after you die, then let the kids have it; but until you die get out there and enjoy life, spend everything if you would to, after all you earned it so you spend it now while you still can.

PS.
I enjoy reading what others in my age bracket have to say. I can relate to most of it.

I'm feeling grumpy as well as all my kids now earn more money than I ever did but when it comes to my birthday they now send me a E Card or if I'm lucky I might get a text message. Has the way we communicate changed that much?

I thought I would start the debate and say I do feel a little grumpy when they start going on about us Spending the Kids Inheritance. After a lifetime of working hard and often giving up things for our kids it is time to have some fun and enjoy ourselves.  Our children are capable of looking after themselves and hopefully we have given them the skills to do so.
Lets all have some fun and enjoy what we have worked hard to acheive and ignore all this talk about SPENDING THE KIDS INHERITANCE.

To Lance,
No you are not getting old, although born in 1945 I detest some of the modern electronic devices. for instance, at the cash register I try to pay cash, its so much quicker than waiting for someone in front of you with a credit card. First of all they put the card the wrong way round or upside down, then they've forgotten the pin number, or got it wrong, or theres not enough credit on their card, or the register wont read the bar code on the item and theyve got to get someone to go and check the price, all the time the queue at the register is getting longer, whereas with cash you hand it over and goodbye!!!

I agree with all these people  about some of the things they are stating , I have problems with door to door salespersons who try and tell me I don't have the right server servicing my  electricity/gas or internet /phone services i actually have to get someone else to deal with them as I can't comprehend what they are saying to me. People who dump  bags full of rubbish or broken items in the reserve accross the road from where I live, also when I go out and eat at a shopping complex some people just leave their take away food , plates cups etc on the table  its disgusting , they are so lazy they can't even put their rubbish in the bin so the next person can sit at the table and have a clean top to place their own food on, also persons that deface ,building walls , fences, poles etc just because they have nothing better to do with themselves

I get grumpy when you ring companies and are put on hold with the message saying "your call is important to us and you are placed in the que thank you for waiting" this is repeated every few seconds as you wait for a real person to answer. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I'm with you Kat on the following,

Talking to machines on the phone.
Anybody who chew gum with their mouth open.
Impatient or rude drivers, leave home earlier!
Infomercials and so called reality TV.
Spam.

and another one...

My internet connection when it drops out or slows down.

Is there anybody else out there who has trouble with today's modern electronic gadgets; or is it just me? Am I getting old or something?
